The same goes for Interviewing. But you can stand out for who you are. Who was the best teacher you have had and why? What is the impression you want to leave with them… what is it they need to know about you that shows them that you’d be a great doctor and a perfect match for their school? Be sure, however, not to ask a question unless you are genuinely interested in the answer. I haven’t experienced this personally. Read the paper, magazine articles, etc. Why should we hire you over the other candidates? resource
